ERIZIOS ARIVIOS

If you dont understand that title its ok cause its a language you dont know (and neither do we). Erez has finally arrived. THUS THIS HAS NOW BECOME THE DAVID ADAM EREZ BLOG!!!!! Dont worry the URL will remain unchanged. but erez will now be typing in bold... Hey everybody I'm here... and i pierced my face. oh, and adam now has a tattoo of a digital clock on his elbow (maybe not).

Yesterday Erez had a long day, first he flew, then he flew more then he was in Hawaii after being in Vancouver... I know beautiful tropical... vancouver, and then he was in Sydney, then he came to Cairns. This is good cause we are in Cairns. Then we ate, then we drank, then we drank, then we drank, then we kept on getting shots. We all drank a lot! well we were drinking quite heavily and adam and i felt (as responsible drinkers) that we should not be abusing our livers so violently so the last 3 shots of gin were water... well at least for adam and i they were. we are so evil! (there will definately be some serious stories to be told in future blogs... so stay tuned) here is the way it went down... adam and i were getting wasted and we felt erez should have a warm welcome into the aussie culture we have grown so accustomed to. we payed the bartender to give us ahots of water dressed as tequila. well, when we got to the last bar of the night the plan was almost ruined. adam went to tie his shoe and erez accidentally picked up adam's shot of water meaning that adam was holding the real gin (not a great shot to have when hammered). well i may not be a u of t grad but this brain (even when intoxicated) has ways of impressing even me. i stopped adam and erez and gave some sappy bullshit speech about being together is oz and suggested that we shoot from the hand of the person to our left. even adam was impressed and continued to thank me the entire walk home... really subtle adam. Subtle enough, I didnt notice..you see... the plan was that adam wanted to get erez so drunk that he passed out and could then write "welcome to oz" on his chest in eyeliner. that also didnt go to plan... erez (drunk as a motherf*cker) put up a serious fight. picture dave going flying through the air and adam slamming into a cupboard at the same time...that's right it happened....erez woke up this morning with random pen marks all over and the words "welcome 2 oz" down his arm... we win!

as a reward I bought myself an eye brow ring...and the winner is? ME I am the winner. I told him it would look good. It doesn't look good.... MMMWWWAAHAHAHAAHA. it looks fine! adam shut up. Stop trying to make Erez feel better, you are such a ....adam now has a black eye. Ok really... I am in no mood

No really Erez's new eyebrow ring looks pretty cool. Its the spikey kind not the ringy kind. I am really hungry and now want to leave the internet cafe.

the plan as of now is like this... erez and i are currently booking our flights to new zealand for next week. we are totally pumped to see and do some crazy sh*t. adam will find a job outside of the whitsundays and we will meet him there after a 10 day stint in nz. after that we'll head down the coast and end up spending our remaining days in melbourne and sydney. see you in about 6 weeks.

time flies when getting drunk every night.

Together again

I sit here in a room filled with advertisments for cheap airfare and international calling cards. I am in a place surrounded by asian people in a land where not one asian lives. However the man beside me isnt asian, he is the sole member of his race, a race that prides itself in hair gel, long shorts, and too much colgne aka David. We are in Cairns Australia, and we both have our own little adventures that led us here. We both are rushing to tell you our stories, as David writes an entry in this blog beside me.

How did I get here? Well: I was in Melbourne for a while as I believe has already been mentioned. This was definitely one of the best passovers EVER!!!! My first couple days back in Melbourne, I went sight seeing with Jenna (a girl that we had met during our last visit to Melbourne). One Museum, two art galleries, the parliment building, the victoria library, and a autum walk through the botanical gardens later for some reason i found myself drunk of my ass at the esplanade hotel. GREAT DAY

Throughout the week there wasn't a dull moment, one of our flatmates from Sydney made the move to Melbourne, and my new found friends through Lara and the Jew connection were in town, so there were plenty of people to go out with. Not to mention Fay and Bruce, over the week, I had the oppertunity to have dinner a couple times just the three of us, as well as a nice lunch out a las chicas (mmmm' poached chicken brie and avacado sandwhich ), and some quality time out for coffee with bruce. Despite quite the age gap for family in the same generation (fay and I are second cousins) I found it very easy to relate to them. There is never a boring moment in the Joske house, they are always on the move, entertaining friends, going out to shows and such. I consider both of them more than just family but also role models and friends.

Later in the week I checked out the Melbourne Comedy festival....terriffic, terriffic. I saw a live performance by Dimitri Martin. He had great delivery and more than just stand up. With guitar piano and hand drawn pictures displayed on an overhead, I pretty much laughed my ass off for two hours.

My last night out in melbourne we went out to all of these hidden bars and clubs hidden in alleys in the city. Melbourne is like that, unlike toronto where club owners go out of their way to make sure their club is very visible, in Melbourne they kinda try to hide it from you. But we found some local girls and stuck to them like glue and they took us (three canadian boys) all around. Got home at four in the morning; hurt like hell the next day.

Then off to go sugarcane farming in Innisfail, Queensland. So I went to the airport, Bruce was nice enough to drive me at 7 30 in the morning (I know arent they great), my plane took off at nine. My experience was like something out of a meet the parents type movie.
I bought a ticket online with my credit card, so that I could retrive my ticket from the auto check in machines and not have to wait in line. But unfourtunately there was a rather long line just to drop off my bags for check in. So I wait about twenty minutes and finally I am at the front of the line. Just as the next available attendant was going to call me over, this fanaticall woman runs in front of everyone yelling "DON'T LET THE PLANE TAKE OFF WITHOUT MY DAUGHTER.... YOU HAVE TO STOP THE PLANE" naturally every single attendant working for virgin blue airlines had to attend to her right away! So I waited at the front of the line for a good ten to fifteen minutes. Then I got to check my bags, but I have a guitar with me so I had to bring it downstairs to the check in for oversized luggage. Normally this is about a five second thing, there is never a line, you just show the guy your boarding pass and then he takes my cheapy guitar away. But not today, today there were twelve old ladies going on a golf trip and they all remembered their clubs. Twenty minutes later I am dashing towards gate three, on an empty stomach just in time to barely make my flight. The good news however is that I had three seats to myself at the back of the plane, so I stretch out and sleep and get off the plane really quickly after. Nope not on this day, you see in the fourth seat over that is where the six month old baby was sitting. His cuteness made up for his crying.
So the plane landed, and I dashed out of my seat toward the back exit beside me when a voice comes on over the PA system and says 'due to the rain in Cairns today we will all be exiting through the front exit." So as I waited for every other person to get off the plane before me, I took a quick look out the window just in time to notice that it is a beautiful sunny day outside.

From the airport I took a bus straight to Innisfail, where the farmer huy is going to pick me up from the bus stop.

This is where the story really gets scary, so I will try to find a scarrier font... one second...ummm.. how about...no this isnt that scary...this isnt even a font...that says this isnt even a font...this is kinda scary....This is the scarriest for sure though...

So the guy picks me up in this gross trailer. He is a fat guy with with a mole over his lip with lots of hairs growing out of it. He kinda looked like the scary guy from Wolf Creek, but he his left leg didnt work so well and his toe nails seemed like they have never been tended too. Not to mention the fact that he is driving and not wearing shoes, come to think of it I am pretty sure he doesnt own shoes. So it turns out that this farm is just a house that looked like a hurricane hit it, which wasnt shocking because innisfail had just been hit by one recently. It didnt take me to much time to realize that this actually was just a coincidance and that this is not a farm, It is a back yard, and he wasnt growing anything at all. The inside of the house looked like a dungeon, no really a fucking dungeon. He made me and the only other guy there chicken for dinner, he did this with his filthy hands and a filthy frying pan. There were bugs flying around everywhere, his giant dog had giant flees. In the middle of the floor was a two peices of buttered bread, I was too scared to ask what for. There was a small room for us to sleep in, there was one bed, so one of us had to sleep on a box spring. The other guy offered, I dont know why. He gave us sheets and said he just washed them. They smelled like pee, so by washing he must have meant pissed on.

Any way there is no way that I can express how scary this truly was. I just cant articulate well enough to describe how terrifying this place was. I will tell you all about it when I get back.
The next morning I bailed for the bus stop and took the first bus back to Cairns, tomorrow I am going to find a real farm to work on, one in which i know people who have been there and say its not a dungeon.

For now, I am going to enjoy Cairns and Enjoy Davids company till we depart from eachother once again tomorrow...tear! Please keep reading on to hear Davids story of the past week.

CONTIKI THIS BIATCH

ok so this my first time actually posting my own blog. its my first day so cut me some slack.

well here is the low down on what i've been up to lately. contiki is great! i'm having a fucking amazing time and loving everything. the people aren't the coolest but i've met some great ones and most are from the uk so i have to plan a trip there soon... dont worry mom not TOO soon. all of our days are packed from morning till slightly earlier the next morning and we are doing some crazy stuff. we went to a crock farm (i ate, held and spotlighted crocs... wicked fun), sailed for 2 days on one of the most famous racing yachts in oz, snorkled in the barrier reef, chilled on about a million gorgeous beaches, went whitewater rafting (best day so far) and have been keeping my canadian roots by drinking and partying almost every night. i wake up super early and stay out till the wee hours of the morning... so basically i'm getting the same 2-4 hours of sleep as i did at home, but i realized that there actually is a 6 o'clock in the morning... its not just a myth... who knew. bottom line is i'm loving it here. i miss home and miss you all tons! i cant wait to be home and share our pictures and stories and see everyone, but i'll be loving every last minute here in oz.

i'm in cairns now and most of my trip finishes tomorrow so tonight we are all going out and it is almost gauranteed to be a rediculous party and another night of violently abusing my liver. i finish on friday and cant wait to see erez here in under a week,!!! (yeah me too) oh, and incase you didnt see adam's blog entry yet he is here beside me writing away. yup adam ended up on the scene of wolf creek and was inches away from being chopped up and served to a pack of wild dingos... Sure was so now he is in cairns and he will be out fer the party tonight and get to meet everyone from my trip (which is fun) Sure is. i'm sure he'll say or do something to embarrass the hell out of me Sure will, but thats adam for ya. terriffic. terriffic.
thats pretty much it for me.

peace out

I led a seder, it's true. Our last night in Sydney David and I put together this shotgun seder with a couple of our flatmates. -Happy Bday Caitlin- We pretty much got it all right, even though we were hagadahless, except we did forget about Eliyahu.

Now I am in Melbourne -- Second seder was great, Fay and Bruce rule; they are so much cooler than my real parents. ...Just kidding i miss you mom and dad!

David is on a contiki tour up the east coast, last we spoke he was learning to surf. Aparently he is really good at it.

And now you are up to date.

FOLLOW YOUR NOSE...to oz

EREZ IS COMING....NO REALLY EREZ IS COMING!

YAY!

that is all

as if it wasnt amazing enough to have the two of us gracing australia with our presence... we have recruited another thornhiller to join us in our money-burning adventures! after way too much convincing we finally got erez to realize that instead of staying in canada and doing the "financially responsible" thing he should join ranks with us and have an experience of a lifetime. i mean really i couldnt have asked for a better situation... me and my 2 best friends in the world partying it up aussie styles (so far we've learned that means lots of drinking) Awww that's so sweet... David you're a girl! well anway... welcome to financial hell erez... welcome.

as of now the plan is this: i have booked myself... yes just myself... on a contiki trip that travels up the coast from sydney to cairns leaving on april 13th and getting to cairns on the 29th. (Gill was supposed to come with but because of my lack of planning she decided to go to israel instead... not a bad choice but it would have been kick ass to have her here too) when i'm done adam will wait for erez here in sydney / melbourne and then come up to meet me in cairns. YAY Great Berrier Reef! and we'll find all new ways to spend money, get drunk, and have the time of our lives... well thats about as far as the plan goes. ya i know we love planning... its more fun this way. leave us alone! at some point we want to do some fruit picking and learn to surf (assuming the idea of sharks doesnt scare the sh!t out of me first). I punched David, now he has a bruise. oh and incase you didnt know already adam is constantly setting new highs in the art of utter randomness... Do you even know who I am....Get in line (ahhh i miss Mark) ...thats adam for ya.

miss you all...

US

OMG you never post anymore

We have pretty much had it with Sydney and are looking forward to moving on, unfourtunately I am working so we are delayed a lil bit. (Do you really have to ask which one is writing this?)

The other night Dave and I enjoyed a glass of wine by the opera house, it was totally awesome. We also have been to this one club called side bar way too many times. Jenn seems to really like it there, I think it is because she is from PEI and is used to only having one option when it comes to going out.

Our housemates are a lot of fun although some of them have already moved out.
Danish people have the best accents, I can't understand a word that they say, but for some reason I still enjoy listening to them talk.

I have given in and taken a telemarketing job, which was brutal the past week, but today i had a long talk with one of the mangers about NLP (thanks dad) and starting monday I am going to be doing training with him instead of being on the phone all the time. (YAY).

It looks like we are going to be bussing it back to Melbourne for Passover, which will be nice, although I was kinda excited to make my own two person sedar.

Anyways there are a lot of hot girls in this internet cafe, so I am going to go and talk to them.

That is all for now, i will try to update every thursday so check again in a week. Also if you have not yet noticed my msn names always has the dates of the last posts in both this and my blog, so you can always check msn to see if we have written anything.

No time to edit so sorry for all the spelling mistakes and sentences that dont make sense.

Love you all.

LONG TIME NO SPEAK

Sorry we haven't posted in a while, we have not had all that much access to internet and to be honest nothing seriously worth noting has happened in the last while.

David is at an interview right now for a marketing job, trade show canvassing and such. David sounded really excited for it, so hopefully he gets it. I have an interview tomorrow morning for an accounts payable, reconcilliation clerk type thing. That should be grand. I had to get some slacks for the interview cause all i have in Sydney is jeans. Hopefully i can return them tomorrow.

It has been really nice having a kitchen and cooking our own meals. I missed my cooking....mmmm' I am so great!

The new shared house is really nice. We are getting to know our roomates, and so far we really like them. One of the guys is a tall british guy named will, who incredibly reminds us of The Conor. I think I will call him, The Will.

Well time is money, so talk to you all soon.

In Sydney

David and I finally have arrived in Sydney. We have spent the past few days trying to find apartments and things open at 3am.

Last night we were walking down the street and a guy was closing up his drycleaning shop. As we walked by a clothes hanger caught on to Davids shorts and tore them right off. Aparently, according to David, yesterday just happened to be the first time he chose to go underwear free. So there he stood, bare assed in the middle of Central Sydney. Absolutely everyone stopped what they were doing to stare. Quickly he ran into a near by public washroom to hide his shame. His shorts were torn apart and completely useless now. I ran into a store and bought a pair of pink sweatpants that say I (heart) Sydney on the bum. So in the end David now has a new pair of pink sweatpants.

Dont have the camera to load pics, but will soon.

Oh by the way... non of that really happened, except for the first two sentences. :)
